After a few teeth, I found it wasn’t as taught and there was much more slack. It gives a wider and larger surface area and feels like it glides with more ease. Once wrapped on, I am sorry to say it doesn’t get any easier or better. And then at the other end, I have a longer piece of excess floss, because cutting the floss tight to the floss head is difficult. So what should be 1 tightly wound piece of floss, has a splayed end with 4 fibers showing as thin strands. It is made worse when the floss itself is unraveling. I feel all fingers and thumbs when doing it and the small clips/edges onto which the floss needs to grab can be really tricky to do. I don’t have the most nimble fingers and with a bit of practice I have gotten quicker, but it takes me a minimum of 10 seconds, but really nearer 20 to actually thread the flosser. It does lock in place quite tightly though, potentially too tight for some. In fact, the coating appears to be scratching off with just a few inserts and removals. When placing the toothpick back into the handle of the flosser, I can hear it scraping the inside. If you were in an absolute pinch you could use it to maybe get a large piece of debris that might be stuck on or between the tooth. I would never advise anyone use this in between their teeth. It is also incredibly thick, with a fairly blunt rounded end to it. Firstly mine is bent both horizontally and vertically. Most notably the bottom of the flosser, with the removable toothpick. I like the look, but perhaps the edges are a bit too square. The flosser itself is very square and feels strong. The proposed color in the marketing images on Kickstarter – A brighter blue than the final product. I don’t dislike it, but it isn’t what I ordered. Rather than the bright/polished blue, I have a much more muted navy blue color. The product I received does not look at all like the color I expected. I had ordered the Artic Blue color variant, one of 5 color choices. However, there was talk about the company being a team of Canadians and Australians, and I had gotten the impression it was being made in one of these countries. Now, the campaign literature didn’t specifically state where it was going to be made, from what I know. I was disappointed to discover it shipped from China. However, already the eco-credentials feel a little lost. To be fair to DuraPik they reshipped the product without issue.
